Left on Long Island's primary focus is to bridge the prevalent gap between the younger and older generations in local politics. Young people deserve a seat at the table, and arguments that youth do not want to put in the work to make a change are moot - the reality is that we need the help of our current leader's to open the door and find a space for youth engagement.
Left on Long Island is a left-leaning, non-profit organization, run by and meant for young community members.
See Left on Long Island featured in Newsday's most recent article on Millennials and Gen Z struggling with the affordability and housing crisis. Active Member Sara Serrano, President Holly Hessner, and Vice President Ava Babington were interviewed and quoted in this piece, written by Rachel Weiss.
